Author Guidelines

The Pesona Pariwisata accepts manuscripts in either English or Indonesian and will publish them in the language used by the author. Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published in other media. Manuscripts should be submitted via: http://ejournal.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/peta. Submitted manuscripts must meet the following requirements:

  • Manuscripts should be typed in double spacing with a word count of 3,000–5,000 words using Times New Roman 12-point font; A4 paper size with margins of 4 cm (left), and 3 cm (top, bottom, and right). Each paragraph begins with a first-line indent of 0.75 cm.
  • Thousands should be written using a period (.) and decimals using a comma (,).
  • Chapter titles should not be numbered. Subchapters use Arabic numerals (e.g., 1, 1.1, etc.). Avoid bullet points.
  • Citation style follows the author-date-page (ADP) format. The author’s name and year are written in parentheses for citations at the beginning and middle of paragraphs, while full citation (author and year) is written in parentheses at the end of paragraphs without commas.
  • References must consist of at least 80% primary sources from the last 10 years.
  • Citation and reference management should use standard reference tools (EndNote, Mendeley, RefWorks, Zotero, or Reference Manager).

MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE

  • Title: Must be concise, clear, and informative, reflecting the content of the article. Maximum 14 words in Indonesian and 12 words in English.
  • Author Identity:
    Includes full author names (without abbreviations and academic titles), numbered using Arabic numerals if there are multiple authors.
  • Author Affiliation:
    Includes institution name, full address, postal code, and country.
  • Corresponding Author:
    Must include an email address for communication.
  • Abstract:
    Maximum 250 words, written in one paragraph, in both English and Indonesian. It must clearly and comprehensively represent the entire content of the article (not just a summary).
    The abstract includes background, research methods, results, and discussion.
    It is followed by 3–5 keywords arranged alphabetically.
  • Introduction:
    Contains research background, problems, and objectives.
    The research objective must be clearly stated in the last paragraph.
  • Research Methods:
    Described clearly and in detail in a single section, including research location, materials and tools (if applicable), research design, data collection, processing, and analysis techniques.
  • Results and Discussion:
    Discusses research problems presented in the introduction in a detailed, critical, and in-depth manner, aligned with applied theories and approaches.
    May include illustrations, tables, or models, all of which must be numbered and referenced in the text.
  • Conclusion:
    Provides answers to the research objectives and should not merely summarize results.
    Written in paragraph form (not bullet points).
  • Acknowledgments (if any):
    Briefly express gratitude to individuals (lecturers, supervisors, mentors, colleagues) and institutions that contributed to the study.
    Typically one paragraph (4–6 sentences).
  • References:
    Must follow the CSE style with the Harvard system.
    Arranged alphabetically by the author's last name with the following formats:
    • Journal Article:
      Author BA, Author FE, Author LK. Year. Article title. Journal Name. Volume(Issue): pages.
      Example: Santosa Y, Supartono, MThohari. 2011. Preference and estimation of natural feed productivity of Sumatran elephants... Media Konservasi. 16(3):149–155.
    • Book:
      Author BA, Author CD, Author EF. Year. Book Title. Publisher (ISO country code): City.

    • Newspaper:
