Publication Ethics

Jurnal Pesona Pariwisata is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices. This publication ethics are developed to avoid misconduct in research and publishing.  This publication ethics clarifies ethical behaviour of all parties involved in publishing a scientific article in Jurnal Pesona Pariwisata.  This publication ethics are based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

Authorship

Author is defined as an individual who has made a significant contribution to the study.  An author should: (1) have a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, analysis, and interpretation of data for the work, (2) actively involved in the writing process in terms of intellectual content, (3) approve the final version to be published.  All contributors that meet all of the above criteria should be listed as authors.

Review Process

Jurnal Pesona Pariwisata is committed to objective and fair double-blind peer-review of the submitted works for publication and to preventing any actual or potential conflict of interests between the editorial and review personnel and the reviewed material.  Jurnal Pesona Pariwisata chooses reviewers based on their expertise (whose most closely matches the topic of the paper).  At least 2 reviewers are invited to evaluate a manuscript. In cases of controversy or disagreement regarding the merits of the work, an additional review will be solicited.  The Jurnal Pesona Pariwisata editor mediates all interactions between authors and reviewers.

Publication Decisions

Comments and suggestions from reviewers are taken seriously and weighed based on their expertise. However, Jurnal Pesona Pariwisata Editor reserves the final decision.  The editor of Jurnal Pesona Pariwisata is responsible for the final decision on article acceptance based on the reviewer's opinions, suggestions, and comments. 

Fair Play

Jurnal Pesona Pariwisata evaluates manuscripts only based on the intellectual content.  No race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophies of the authors are considered in the evaluation process.

Confidentiality

Jurnal Pesona Pariwisata assures the confidentiality of the manuscripts, authors, and other related information on the publishing process.  Only corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher allow for the information.

Duties of Author

The authors acknowledge that they have disclosed all and any actual or potential conflicts of interest with their work or partial benefits associated with it. The authors also should assure that the research is original, the analysis only underlying data, and able to retain data for at least 5 years after publication. All authors submitting their works to the journal for publication as original articles attest that the submitted works represent their authors’ contributions and have not been copied or plagiarized in whole or in part from other works.  All submitted works will be checked by anti-plagiarism software. Plagiarism detected works will be banned for further publication procedure. Authors who have been determined to have committed plagiarism will be banned for publishing in Jurnal Pesona Pariwisata. Multiple, redundant or concurrent publication is unacceptable. 

Duties of Reviewers

A reviewer has the responsibilities to: (1) provide written and unbiased feedback to the authors; (2) indicate whether the writing is clear, concise and relevant; (3) evaluate the scientific accuracy; (4) identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors to elevate the quality of the manuscript; (5) assure a fair play by avoiding personal comments or criticism including in this point is that reviewer should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest; and (6) maintain the confidentiality of the review process. 

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Any departures from the above-defined rules should be reported directly to the Editors-in-Chief who are unequivocally committed to providing swift resolutions to any of such type of problems.
