Peer Review Process
Publication of articles in Pesona Pariwisata is dependent solely on scientific validity and coherence as judged by our editors and/or peer reviewers, who will also assess whether the writing is comprehensible and whether the work represents a useful contribution to the field. Pesona Pariwisata acknowledged the effort and suggestions made by its reviewers.
Initial evaluation of manuscripts
The Editor will first evaluate all manuscripts submitted at a maximum of 2 weeks time. Those rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have serious scientific flaws, or are outside the aims and scope of the Pesona Pariwisata. Those that meet the minimum criteria are passed on to expert reviewers for review. It usually took up to 6 weeks. Average number of weeks between article submission & publication are 8 weeks.
Type of peer review
Submitted manuscripts will generally be reviewed by two experts who will be asked to evaluate whether the manuscript is scientifically sound and coherent, whether it duplicates the already published works, and whether or not the manuscript is sufficiently clear for publication. The method is double blind peer review or double anonymous peer review.
Review reports
Reviewers are asked to evaluate whether the manuscript:
- Is original by stating the objectives and gap clearly
- Is methodologically sound
- Follows appropriate ethical guidelines
- Has results/findings which are clearly presented and support the conclusions
- Correctly references previous relevant work
- Reviewers are not expected to correct or copyedit manuscripts. Language correction is not part of the peer-review process.
Decisions categories include:
Accept. Accepted manuscripts will be published in the current form with no further modifications required.
Accept wtih Revisions. Manuscripts receiving an accept-pending-revisions decision will be published in journal under the condition that minor/major modifications are made. Revisions will be reviewed by an editor to ensure necessary updates are made prior to publication.
Resubmit for Review. The submission needs to be re-worked with significant changes. It's may be accepted. However, It will require a second round of review.
Reject. Rejected manuscripts will not be published and authors will not have the opportunity to resubmit a revised version of the manuscript to Pesona Pariwisata.
All correspondence concerning manuscripts should be directed to the Editor of Pesona Pariwisata. The Editor will direct all correspondence to the lead author; the lead author is responsible for sharing communications with other authors. Beyond communication concerning the review, manuscripts accepted for publication may require additional correspondence to complete copyediting and layout editing.
